A Life of Creation — Nicholas Bredimus
10 March 2010Have you picked up how the myriad developments in Information Technology have fundamentally changed air travel and hospitality recently? Most responsible is New Jersey’s favorite son Mr Nicholas Bredimus. He has worked on projects ranging from creating time-saving computer programs to improving air safety and designing upmarket homes.
Looking at Mr Nicholas Bredimus’ lineage it’s easy to tell he was bound to rise to prominence. Bringing elements together from a true melting pot, his kindred traces to the time of ancient Rome, with his mother’s side based in Germany and Scotland. Luxembourg and England, meanwhile, provided home to his father’s family, although during the 1800s his family would emigrate.
After arriving in the U.S., the line still strove to rise up the social ladder. Born one of seven children — three boys and four girls — Nicholas had a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who earned her living as a nurse. He would spend for many years in towns across four states. Nicholas has stepped up to the challenge of high powered jobs within companies across the air travel sector — the majority of them huge names. Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines, Trans World Airlines (TWA) — these airlines would all at different times appoint him as a vice president. Most important, even considering this, is his prowess as a gifted software architect working with the airlines.
His creation of airplane maintenance computer programs, now put to use throughout the air travel business though initially designed for US Airways, ultimately resulted in what is probably his most popular piece. He would go on to examine making and recording bookings. For both room and flight reservations he produced software systems to offload the bulk of the work required before this approach. And next came QuikTix, an automatic, networked approach to ticket sales which stands as a first. He has also been appointed to a number of posts entirely outside of software development, it should be mentioned. Responsible jobs with American Express and American Airlines followed, and of course he founded his own company seventeen years ago.
Today Mr Nicholas Bredimus has departed from his airline connections and from coding, but he’s still making best use of his skills. Presently, you can look for his work in high-priced condos designed around all of the latest technology to be found anywhere.
